The vocalist, 27, exposed he struggled with alcohol and drugs throughout his time in One Direction and his psychological health also hurt.

The group, formed of Liam, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik were the major boyband in the world beforehand their divided in 2015.

Liam also long-established his split from fiancée Maya Henry, saying he needed to 'work on himself' but that he felt upset 'hurting people'

Liam proposed to Maya by a $3 million engagement ring throughout the UK's first lockdown which started in March and over in July previous year.   

Liam Payne has revealed he hurt with 'severe' suicidal thoughts.

The singer, 27, gave fans a frank insight into his life as he deliberated his wild 'pills and booze phase' during his One Direction days. 

Speaking with Steven Barlett on the Diary of CEO podcast, Liam - who recently called off his engagement to American model Maya Henry - also exposed he is incapable to carry out basic ordinary tasks and still 'feels like a child' contempt his £500 million net worth.

Liam self-confessed that during his time in One Direction he writhed with compulsion and psychological health issues that he has reserved secret, till now. 

Yet Liam writhed to stay abstemious on tour, admitting: 'There were a few pictures of me on a boat and I was all swollen out and I call it my pills-and-booze face.

'My face was bigger than it is now. The problem was, the best way to safe us was to lock us in our rooms, and what is in the room? A mini-bar.

'So, I had a party-for-one that appeared to carry on for years. It was rough but the only way you could get prevention out.'

He also thrashed with his psychological health, and when asked about 'moments of suicidal ideation', Liam admitted: 'Yeah. There is certainly some stuff I have never verbal about to do with it. It was really, really unembellished. '

Liam - who was just 16 when he combined One Direction - also spoke about how discovery fame at a young age meant that he was incapable to care for himself, as he had all basic responsibilities accepted out for him.  

There is no link between money and contentment. It is a legend. Money is the aptitude to relax on sure things.'

Liam went on to disclose that he slid back into bad habits during lockdown, and developed dependent on alcohol, which led to him putt on weight. 

He clarified: I did concern up till the last few months. I think a lot of people had this same kind of thing, liquor. It was receiving previous and previous and calmer and informal to go to.

'What I’ve originate more than whatever with the alcohol is limits. If you’re on Zoom you can perhaps get away with being a bit tipsy, when you’re not hypothetical to be.'

Particularization the impact it had on his waist, he continued: 'I put on so much heaviness, I was eating badly and telling it as a bulking period — "I’m doing it for a movie role! It’s all good!"

'I put a lot of weight on. What became me, I did one performance on TV with the BAFTAs and I was disappointed with myself. I didn’t look how I wanted to be look.

'In your individual self you recognize how you feel around it. Obviously, they say the camera adds ten quid and it certainly did. I realised I have let myself go in this.'

Away on the podcast, Liam exposed why he called off his engagement to wife-to-be Maya.  

The pair long-established their engagement in August 2020 after Liam popped the query throughout lockdown with a £3 million ring.  

The couple were first related back in August 2018 shortly after Liam's prominent split from Cheryl, 37, with whom he shares son Bear, three.  

So, it’s worth clapping Liam Payne, who has verbal openly for the first time about his personal struggle with agoraphobia, a not-so-often deliberated nervousness illness.

The former One Direction associate told Esquire Middle East about his personal experience with agoraphobia. It’s a disorder broadly summarised as one that causes a person to feel anxious about leaving their home, or being in places or circumstances that might be problematic to seepage from, or that make them feel susceptible. A panic attack can be activated in a person with agoraphobia when they are forced to leave their house, be in a sore state, or even just think about it.

When it comes to psychological health, research specifies men are less likely to seek medicinal help or share their difficulties with friends or family.
